Lok Virsa executive director gets extension

The extension was made by PM Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani in a letter issued by the PM House.

Lok Virsa’s Executive Director Khalid Javed and Javed Talat, a retired BPS-22 officer of the Secretariat Group, were given extensions in separate notifications issued in Islamabad.  


Talat, who is currently posted as Executive Director/Alternate Executive Director in the World Bank, will continue for one more year, said a notification issued by the Establishment Division.

Javed will continue to be the executive director of Lok Virsa for two more years. The extension was made by Prime Minister (PM) Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani in a letter issued by the PM House; it praised his services to preserve and promote Pakistani culture.

Moreover, Major (retd) Rizwanullah Baig, a BPS-20 officer of District Management Group currently posted under the Punjab government, has been posted as Chief Commissioner of Afghan refugees under the Ministry of States and Frontier Region, while Dr Fida Muhammad Wazir, who is currently holding the position, has been transferred to the Planning and Development Division as a joint secretary.

Lt Cdr (retd) Muqaddas Haider, a BPS-18 officer of Police Service Pakistan who is currently serving as a security officer to the prime minister, has been given a one year leave to avail the British Chevening Scholarship Programme.
