RAWALPINDI:

A 28-year-old woman, abducted along with her two young daughters from Dhoke Jhang in the Saddar Beruni area, was allegedly murdered by her brother-in-law. Police recovered her body from a pit in a deserted area near Chauntra after identifying the suspect, while both abducted girls were safely recovered.

According to a police spokesperson, Nabeela Shaheen was abducted along with her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Ayat Noor, and four-year-old daughter, Shifa Noor, from Dhoke Jhang on September 12. A case was registered at Saddar Beruni Police Station, and an investigation was launched.

The spokesperson said police became suspicious during the investigation and took the woman's brother-in-law into custody for questioning. During the initial investigation, the suspect allegedly confessed to killing the woman and concealing her body in a pit in a deserted area near Chauntra.

Police recovered the body on the suspect's identification and shifted it to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem examination.

According to police, the suspect told investigators that he wanted to take possession of his sister-in-law's property and allegedly abducted and killed her for that purpose. He also allegedly disclosed that he had planned to kill the two girls, but they were safely recovered following timely police action.

Police officials said Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) was being added to the abduction case.
