Azerbaijan lauds Pak peace efforts

ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held a telephonic conversation with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, with the latter appreciating "Pakistan's constructive diplomatic efforts to facilitate dialogue, mediation, and de-escalation" and "acknowledging the importance of these efforts for regional peace and stability."
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), PM Shehbaz and President Aliyev "exchanged views on the evolving regional and international situation and emphasised the importance of continued consultations and close coordination on issues of mutual interest."
The PMO's statement noted that PM Shehbaz "apprised President Aliyev of Pakistan's sustained diplomatic outreach and constructive efforts to promote peace, dialogue, and de-escalation in the region."
Discussing bilateral relations, the premier "reaffirmed Pakistan's deep-rooted, fraternal, and strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, characterised by mutual trust and steadfast support on all issues of core national interest."
