As Seyfried focused on her performance, Nina could be seen slowly appearing in the background wearing a mask from the Scream movie franchise. She quietly approached her mother while preparing to give her a surprise.

Seyfried eventually spotted the masked figure through her phone screen and let out a scream before quickly stopping the recording.

The candid video drew reactions from several celebrities. Seyfried’s former Mean Girls co-star Lindsay Lohan was among those who liked the post, alongside Naomi Watts, Nikki Reed, Olivia Wilde and comedian Chelsea Handler.

Actress Krysten Ritter also reacted to the clip with a series of laughing emojis, while the official Scream Instagram account jokingly commented, “Sorry my bad.”

Seyfried shares Nina and her 6-year-old son, Thomas, with her estranged husband, actor Thomas Sadoski.

The actress has previously spoken about her musical abilities and plays several instruments, including the piano, clarinet, guitar and dulcimer. She learned to play the dulcimer during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier this year, Seyfried demonstrated her musical skills during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she performed Joni Mitchell and discussed her experience singing in films such as Mamma Mia! and Les Misérables.

The latest video offered fans a rare glimpse of Seyfried’s family life, with Nina’s unexpected Scream appearance providing a playful surprise.
