Yadgar-e-Fatah monument opens to public

ISLAMABAD:

A large number of people thronged the Yadgar-e-Fatah Monument here on Saturday after it was opened to the general public, commemorating the country's victory over India in the Marka-e-Haq Operation 2025 and paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the homeland.

The special ceremony jointly organized by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and Capital Development Authority held at the monument's premises gathered people from all walks of life to celebrate the moment of national pride.

The ceremony was attended by prominent figures including President Chess Federation Zeeshan Naqvi and emerging national cricketer Razaullah, as well as famous public personality from the world of sports, 'Chacha Cricket'.

Speaking on the occasion, cricketer Razaullah paid rich tribute to the bravery of Pakistan's armed forces and their invaluable sacrifices. He said that Pakistan's armed forces had defeated the enemy decisively in the past and would continue to do so in the future. He added that he felt immensely proud to be a Pakistani.

Chacha Cricket congratulated the entire nation on the remarkable victory in Marka-e-Haq and said that the nation was ready to sacrifice their lives for the motherland. He said that Pakistan had earned a prominent place in the world through its achievements.

A documentary was screened on the occasion to showcase the eight-month journey of the monument's construction and the concept behind its architecture and design. The monument features five archways and, symbolising the five pillars of Islam, as well as the five pillars of the country including the government, military, media, people and the ideology underpinning the nation.

The monument's design also represents the three wings of Pakistan's armed forces, including the Army, Air Force and Navy along with cyber defence and space warfare branches.

A projection-mapping show was presented on the monument, using lights and visuals to narrate its significance and highlight key moments associated with the country's victory in the Marka-e-Haq Operation.

A musical performance on the occasion drew appreciation from the audience with presence of two final contestants of the Pakistan Idol on the stage.

The school and college students wearing their uniforms were seen taking pictures and making videos in front of the illuminated monument.
