BERLIN:
Bayern Munich are eager to offer coach Jupp Heynckes a contract extension following his side’s impressive run with this week’s Champions League win against Manchester City their 10th consecutive victory. Heynckes has a contract with Bayern until 2013 and is in his third stint as Munich boss after coaching the side from 1987-1991 and then stepping in briefly in 2009 after Jurgen Klinsmann was sacked. “Heynckes is a stroke of luck and the perfect coach for Bayern,” Munich’s director of sport Christian Nerlinger told magazine Kicker. “Of course, it’s conceivable that Heynckes stays longer, why not?”
