PM&DC clarifies position on seats

ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has clarified that the recognition of medical and dental colleges is granted strictly in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory framework and prescribed standards.

According to council spokesperson, the PM&DC has approved 1,400 seats in public sector medical and dental colleges in K-P, Balochistan, ICT and Punjab in view of the national need to increase opportunities for meritorious students.

The initiative aims to facilitate access to medical education for students from underprivileged regions and help prevent deserving students from seeking medical education opportunities abroad.
