Is American democracy unresponsive?

There have been many debates about American democracy being indirect. The electoral college mechanism was inserted into the system in order to what was then called "excess of democracy".

There is another thing, which I always found quite baffling. An American president is elected after making certain promises to the citizens. He then proceeds to do, in many cases, exactly the opposite of what he promised on campaign trail or does exactly similar to what his opponent stood for, opposition to which got the man elected in the first place. Bush's "read my lips no new taxes", Obama's troop surge in Afghanistan and his sickening surveillance regime, Trump's promise to release the Epstein Files and then him being the only reason they weren't are some of such examples. There is practically nothing the American citizenry can do to stop an American president from doing what they never wanted or asked for.

For four years, an American president can wage wars after promising to end wars, can spy on Americans after promising to end the warrantless surveillance of Americans, send US soldiers in defence of foreign nations after promising to end foreign deployments, and so forth. American citizens can only watch and make noise but the system does not give them the opportunity to cause any change for four years.

However, there is something even deeper and worse that I simply cannot unsee. Let me highlight some big events here. Israel asked President Kennedy for a nuclear weapon. Kennedy said absolutely not. He even asked Israel to stop the enrichment at the Dimona reactor in Israel. Next thing we know is that Kennedy died. Many suspect, and I am one of them, that Israel was behind it. Nobody can do anything about it.

Since becoming president in 2025, Trump has seen a windfall of over $2.4 billion from his various businesses. About $1.2 billion of that came from launching a meme coin called $TRUMP causing investors to lose about $3.8 billion. Textbook fraud. Nobody can do anything about it.

He won the election primarily because the American people wanted their financial situation to improve given that the credit card debt had gone over a trillion dollars, which is a first. And one of the ways the American people expected that Trump would be able to help stimulate the economy would be to end foreign wars and not wage new ones. Lo and behold, Trump did wage the one war, against Iran, that no president before him ever wanted to wage. The gas prices have hit record numbers causing the American people to go broke even further.

Here is the disturbing part; not only did the American people not want this war, they also know why Trump did it. Ask anyone in America and they'll tell you that Trump waged the war against Iran because Israel wanted this and Israel is in control of Trump because of some disturbing videos that Israel has of him, which were made by Jeffrey Epstein, who was working for Mossad.

The American people know now that perhaps building 7 wasn't supposed to fall in a complete demolition style on September 11, 2001. Many Americans have also heard of the Dancing Israelis. They know that even Trump as a builder at the time had seriously questioned the airplanes being the reason behind both the World Trade Center towers coming down. They know that 94% of their elected politicians take money from AIPAC while running for office and that is why they act like Israeli slaves before and after election. The 94% is such a maddening statistic that it should make any citizen of any country question if they even live in a country that is not occupied by some foreign country.

Yet with all this knowledge, there is not a single thing that the American people can do about it. Nothing. They can make noise and write about it. But nothing will shake this strong foundation of the occupation. I don't know about you but last time I read the definition of democracy, this wasn't it.
