Tucker Carlson returns to 'SNL' as Jeremy Culhane revives his impression during the first Weekend Update of Season 52

Tucker Carlson returned to Saturday Night Live as Jeremy Culhane revived his impression of the conservative commentator during the first “Weekend Update” of Season 52.

Culhane’s Carlson discussed several of the summer’s major films, including The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Gender, Obsession, Minions and Monsters and Toy Story 5.

While discussing The Odyssey, Carlson’s character joked about the film’s use of IMAX 70mm, before making a reference to the film’s portrayal of Greek characters. The segment then shifted to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Gender, with Carlson joking about the movie’s title and inventing a fictional theme song.

Colin Jost challenged the character’s description of the film before the sketch continued with jokes about its stars getting married and Zendaya’s name. Carlson’s character also joked about the idea of changing surnames.

The “Weekend Update” segment later turned to Obsession, with Culhane’s Carlson making jokes about heterosexual relationships and what he described as the political left’s approach to horror films.

The impression also referenced Minions and Monsters, with Carlson joking about former President Donald Trump’s cabinet before delivering another political gag.

The segment concluded with a joke about Toy Story 5 and the character Woody.

Culhane first introduced his Tucker Carlson impression during SNL Season 51 and has since reprised the character on “Weekend Update.” The latest appearance marks the third time he has played Carlson on the show.

The Season 52 “Weekend Update” segment comes as Saturday Night Live continues its tradition of using celebrity impressions and political satire to comment on current pop culture and public figures.
