Chris Rock says 'Grown Ups 3' will ‘blow your mind’ as daughter joins cast

Chris Rock teases 'Grown Ups 3' and discusses working with his daughter Zahra, who joins the comedy sequel

Chris Rock has teased what fans can expect from Grown Ups 3, revealing that the long-awaited comedy sequel is going well and giving a glimpse into working with his youngest daughter, Zahra Rock.

Speaking at the New York Film Festival premiere of Misty Green on September 26, Rock said the cast is having a great time filming the third instalment of the Grown Ups franchise. He also raised expectations for the upcoming movie, saying fans will be surprised by how good it is.

Grown Ups 3 will reunite Rock with Adam Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade and Rob Schneider, who are returning as the group of childhood friends at the centre of the comedy series.

Rock will also share the screen with his 22-year-old daughter Zahra, who is joining the franchise after growing up around the sets of the previous films.

Rock previously revealed Zahra’s casting earlier this month while discussing his daughters, Zahra and 24-year-old Lola, in a video for Variety. He recalled that both girls grew up around the Grown Ups films and said it was special to now have Zahra appearing in the latest instalment.

Zahra also has a small role in Misty Green, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month. She attended the New York Film Festival screening with her father.

The returning Grown Ups cast will also include Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, Maya Rudolph, Joyce Van Patten, Steve Buscemi and Shaquille O’Neal, along with Jackie Sandler. Sunny Sandler and Sadie Sandler are also expected to appear.

New additions include Bailee Madison, Deon Cole and Julie Bowen.

Grown Ups 3 does not yet have an official release date. The film’s story will follow the longtime friends as their now-grown children join them for what has been teased as their ultimate adventure.
