Rs3b violations flagged along Expressway

ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has identified violations involving around Rupees three billion in recoverable land conversion charges and penalties along the Islamabad Expressway East, where action has been initiated against 377 structures, including 281 commercial buildings.

The recoveries relate to unauthorised construction and violations involving land use, setbacks, floor area ratio (FAR) and covered area, according to the authority.

The CDA's Building Control Section, in coordination with the Enforcement Directorate and district administration, has launched a sealing, regularisation and demolition operation along the Expressway. More than 140 structures have so far been proceeded against under the applicable building control regulations, the CDA said.
