PRA to deploy 250 enforcement officers

The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has accelerated the process of improving its revenue system through enhanced tax collection, administrative reforms and digital monitoring.

A decision to expand the scope of PRA has also been taken, under which 250 enforcement and audit officers will be deployed next month. Tasks will be assigned to the officers to improve tax collection from sectors contributing relatively lower revenue and to enhance their compliance with tax laws. These decisions were taken during a meeting held on strengthening the departmental capacity, chaired by PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra. He directed officers to focus on administrative and technological reforms to make the tax collection system more effective.
