Three sisters set for Asian Games squash test

Peshawar-based trio makes it to the squad for the quadrennial event

LAHORE:

Three sisters from Peshawar will represent Pakistan in squash at the Asian Games, after Mahwish Ali, Sehrish Ali and Mahnoor Ali were named in the national squad.

The Pakistan squash team’s training camp is currently underway in Peshawar, while Mahwish is training in the United States ahead of the Games.

Former player Muhammad Arif, speaking to Express News, described the selection of his three daughters for the same Asian Games squad as a great honour.

Sehrish has previous Asian Games experience, having represented Pakistan at the continental event held in China.

The Ali sisters expressed their delight at being selected together and vowed to give their best for Pakistan.

The Pakistan squash squad also includes Hamza Khan, Ashab Irfan, Nasir Iqbal, Noor Zaman and Sana Bahadur.

Amir Nawaz will serve as team manager, while Faheem Gul has been appointed coach.
