Toby Kebbell joins Prime Video’s star-studded crime thriller 'Dirty'
Toby Kebbell has joined the cast of Prime Video’s upcoming UK crime thriller series Dirty, which stars Phoebe Dynevor and Samantha Morton.
The British actor will appear in the series from Bridge of Spies writer Matt Charman. Dirty is scheduled to begin production later this year and is being produced by Binocular Productions in association with Amazon MGM Studios, with Foz Allan serving as an executive producer.
The series follows trainee detective Eva Bennett, played by Dynevor, who returns to Manchester and becomes involved in a new homicide investigation led by her estranged mother, Lois Mercer, portrayed by Morton. Mercer is a celebrated but intimidating detective chief inspector.
As Eva works on the investigation, she begins uncovering long-hidden truths about her mother and discovers evidence of Mercer’s crimes. The revelations put Eva in a difficult position as she is forced to choose between pursuing justice and protecting her family.
Kebbell will play Ashley Rutherford, a wealthy property magnate with a multimillion-pound portfolio. Rutherford is Mercer’s partner and is closely involved in both her personal life and criminal activities.
His character also has ambitions to expand his influence across Manchester. Rutherford plans to use his wealth and connections to gain control over important parts of the city, including the police and government.
Dirty adds another notable television project to Kebbell’s career. His recent TV credits include Apple TV+ series For All Mankind and Servant, as well as the acclaimed Black Mirror episode "The Entire History of You".
On the big screen, Kebbell has appeared in Dead Man’s Shoes, Control, RocknRolla, War Horse, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Kong: Skull Island and Warcraft. He will next star as Robert Chartoff in I Play Rocky.
