Jessie J is stepping away from social media as she focuses on her health, healing and spending time with her 3-year-old son, Sky.
The singer, 38, announced her plans in an Instagram post on Sept. 7, reflecting on the past two years and the challenges she has experienced. Jessie J said she is “not at my best” but reassured followers that she is doing okay.
She described the period as “magical, successful, life changing and extremely busy” while acknowledging that it had also taken a toll on her emotionally and physically. Among the major events she listed were releasing her first album in eight years, moving from the US to the UK, touring, experiencing a breakup, raising her son and being diagnosed with breast cancer.
The singer said she now wants to give herself time to “recharge, heal, to rest, to process” and prepare for the next chapter of her life. She also revealed that she plans to undergo her second cancer reconstruction surgery.
Jessie J called her social media break a “digital cleanse,” explaining that she wants to spend less time on her phone and be more present in her personal life. She said her team may share updates while she is away, and she may return briefly for work commitments.
In a final Instagram Story, Jessie J shared a photo of herself holding Sky’s hand and wrote that there was “No place I would rather be” before signing off from social media.
