GTA 5 receives unofficial Nintendo Switch port ahead of GTA 6
GTA 5 has been made playable on original Nintendo Switch through unofficial native port ahead of GTA 6

GTA 5 has been made playable on the original Nintendo Switch through an unofficial native port, giving Nintendo’s console an unofficial version of Rockstar Games’ open-world title ahead of the expected release of GTA 6.
According to Tech4Gamers, modders have developed the port by recompiling GTA 5 using source code leaked in 2023.
The project, developed by Paralympics Productions, differs from an earlier modification that allowed the game to run on Nintendo’s hardware, as this version is described as a native port.
Performance remains limited on the original Nintendo Switch. Footage of the project reportedly shows GTA 5 running between 10 and 25 frames per second on standard Switch hardware.
The game can reportedly reach around 30FPS on an overclocked Switch OLED, although frame rates can still fall depending on the scene and the number of non-player characters present.
The reported performance places the unofficial Switch version closer to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 releases than the later PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.
GTA 5 has sold more than 200 million copies and has been released across numerous platforms. However, Rockstar Games has never officially brought the title to the Nintendo Switch.
