A video of a man raping a 6-year-old girl in Jandanwala was sent to dozens of people on their phones Tuesday afternoon. According to police officials, an investigation team was working on identifying the rapist in the video, when villagers caught the accused and brought him to the police station on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred in Chak 38-A, when resident Asim Rashid’s daughter Sana went to a local shopkeeper’s store to get ice cream. Sana was abducted from the site and taken to a nearby apartment where she was raped. The accused recorded the incident on his cell phone and by the time neighbours heard the child’s screams and rescued her he had already fled the scene. “We found her lying in a pool of blood and immediately rushed her to the DHQ hospital. Where her condition is said to serious,” said a neighbour who rescued the child, Maqbool Shams.
Locals approached the Jandanwala police to register a case against the rape and the hospital released a medical certificate confirming that Sana had been raped. “The child had been beaten severely and she was raped. She has suffered serious injuries but I am confident she will recover,” said Dr Amina Saeed.
“The same afternoon we got a message of the video. Several of my family members got the video and even some neighbours,” said Asim. “I took the video to the police but it is hard to identify the man through the video. Still police officials said that they would examine the evidence in detail,” he said. “The same evening locals caught him and brought him to police,” he added.
Jandanwala police has registered a case against the accused and are investigating. “He has not confessed to the crime yet but we have taken him into custody and he is being questioned,” said Inspector Mazhar.

Castration...Casration...is the call of the day...though its barbaric..but ones needs to be Conan to teach the reptiles a long lasting lesson
@Fed-up!!: What? Without four witnesses? Are you going against the K_n which is Ah's own word?
@ DJ and Vok. Like mentioned above as well stick to the subject and do not make fun of Islam. And if you really like to practice your sarcasm skills, and there are better topics topics to choose than a sad and heartwrenching news such as above
@DJ: i think that these comments have been posted owing to stereotyped perceptions it should be realized that hudood punishments are more of a deterrent nature thats why very strict evidence is required for punishment but there is adequate alternative punishment in the shape of tazir in which modern devices can be used as evidence and evidence of even single witness cab be considered so comments about the theme and purpose of islamic laws should not be made in ignorance of basic idea behind these laws
@Not a Mountain Rat:
ever heard of sarcasm?
Castration is too kind for animals like these. My greatest sympathies to the child and her family, hopefully she gets the justice she deserves and wish her all the best in her future - unfortunately in this sad society in such cases the stigma attached to the victim is hard to rid of.
“The child had been beaten severely and she was raped. She has suffered serious injuries but I am confident she will recover,” said Dr Amina Saeed.
Wrong. Nobody recovers from a rape, let alone a child. The fall into abyss started for this god forsaken nation when they did not object to the Objective Resolution in 1948. The rot of the evil let loose as soon as Jinnah died is now deep set into the psyche. Nothing but divine back lash will set the course for this nation right.
Is it hard to trace the origin of the cellphone video?
Serve warrant to the cell phone companies and work backwards from the recipient side. Of course PAK police know that but why should they act. In PAK the burden of proof is always on the victim.
@ Umar : Hmmm.. this is a good, sensitive comment.Use DNA evidence to nail the culprit(s).Super-like!
@DJ:
Syed Munawar Hussain Ameer JI has already answered your question.Watch this video
@DJ: There is no doubt that nothing can be horrible than rape. It is unhuman and worse thing. This dirty person should get examplary sentence. Bad thing is somebody captured it on mobile and then sent other people. My sympathy is to both child and the paarents. In every country there are bad people who does these type of dirty things. After 9/11 every world media started to empahsize mostly these incidents happening in pakistan only.
These things regulary happens in india as well but no media emphazise them as propaganda.
In America every 5 second a girl or women is rapped never come on media. Majority cases does not even register. I am not saying this an American women organisation says.
Anyway whereever in the world these things happen its wrong and we should all strongly comdemn it.
very sad to read. In both our countries, we need to much stern an action on rapists. And children? Tauba :(
My sympathy to the child and her family.
There are two faces of sickness exposed in this case. One is the actual incident of rape and the other is of recording and circulating the incident. There must be capital punishment for such animals.I wonder what do so called torch bearer of the religion say about it??? The life would never be same for the child and the family, ever.
Only one thought - Pakistan!
If it was just a rape of a 6 year old girl - could happen anywhere. Videotaping that - that's unbelievably evil and imagine the state of mind of the criminal!!!
Tears shed and prayers said for this child. I don't know what else to say or do about the state of humanity in our country.
@Umar: no. DNA evidence is kufr and biddah.
only the testimony of four pious Muslim adult male witnesses can be used to prosecute rapists according to the time-tested miracle of Sharia Law.
Just ask the chief of Jamaat-e-Islami
I hope they will use DNA evidence to prosecute the correct culprit.
My deepest sympathy goes out to the girl and her family :(
i am sorry to say this....but cut their dicks...atleast no other child has to go through this
Punjab police as usual in self denial mode no crime comitted, keep it up to yor reputation
Sick!
Will this poor girl be required to bring 4 pious male Muslim witnesses to prove that she was raped, or would she be accussed of fornication? Will the "modern and kufar" invention of video clip be acceptable as proof or only traditional Islamic "jurisprudence" to used to judge the child?
