Content creator ‘DHA wali maid’ has shared a new update on her children’s education, posting a video of her three children getting ready for and being dropped off at a new school in Lahore.
The reel, shared on her Instagram account, opens with the domestic worker-turned-social media personality asking, ‘What can a single woman really achieve?’ She goes on to say that she wants her children to ‘become officers, “sirs”, so that people work under them and they don’t work under anybody.’
The video drew a wave of support from Pakistani celebrities, fans and influencers in the comments section.
Actor Zoha Tauqeer wrote ‘Mashallah’, while Ghana Ali said the clip "makes me so happy".
Influencer Waliya Barakzai said she was proud of her, while singer Annural Khalid and comedian Ali Gul Pir both left heart emojis.
Fans were equally moved. "I hope we stay here till we see them as officers," wrote one follower, while another commented, "I’m crying. This is so wholesome."
A third wrote in Urdu that a woman can achieve anything, adding a prayer for the children’s future.
In an earlier video, she said she had been working for the same employer for five years, and that the first thing she did once she had saved enough money was enrol her children in a private school in her village. Dissatisfied with the standard of education there, she said she began looking for a school in the city once her finances allowed for it.
