Disney star Carla Jeffery’s twin brother shares final text message to sister before her death at 33

Carla Jeffery’s twin brother, actor Carlon Jeffery, has shared the final text message he sent to the Disney star before her death at the age of 33.

Carla, best known for playing Bree in Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise and for her appearances on Shake It Up, died on September 1, 2026. Her longtime manager, Carla Alexander, announced her death the following day. A cause of death has not been disclosed.

Carlon shared a screenshot of his final message to his sister, beginning with a simple request for her to call him back.

“Hey sis, call me back when you get this,” he wrote. “I was just calling to see how your day went! I love you to the moon and back sis.”

He then told Carla how proud he was of her, praising her “resilience,” “grace” and “infectious smile that lights up a room.”

“You are truly a light that shines bright. Don’t let anyone.. dim that light.. even yourself,” Carlon continued.

“The light you carry is special and must be protected at all times. You are the best sister a brother could ask for. I pray we continued to grow closer to one another along this journey,” he wrote.

Carlon ended the message with a promise of lifelong support, writing, “I got your back in this life and the next.”

Carla and Carlon were twins and both pursued careers in entertainment. Carlon was known for playing Cameron Parks on the Disney Channel sitcom A.N.T. Farm, while Carla built her own career after making her acting debut as a child.

Carla began acting at 12, appearing in the 2006 film Phat Girlz as a younger version of Mo’Nique’s character. She went on to appear in television shows including Curb Your Enthusiasm, iCarly, Good Luck Charlie, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Scream Queens.

Her most recognisable role came with Disney’s Zombies franchise, in which she played cheerleader Bree. She appeared in the first three films, beginning with 2018’s Zombies, followed by Zombies 2 in 2020 and Zombies 3 in 2022. She later reprised the character for Zombies: The Re-Animated Series.

Carla’s longtime manager remembered her as more than a client following her death.

“For more than 20 years, we had the privilege of watching her grow into a beautiful, vibrant, and incredibly talented woman whose radiant smile could light up any room,” Alexander wrote in a statement.

“As Bree in Disney’s hit ZOMBIES franchise, Carla shared her joy, humor, and bright spirit with audiences around the world,” the statement continued. “Carla was more than a client; she was family.”

The circumstances surrounding Carla’s death have not been publicly revealed. Her family and loved ones have received an outpouring of tributes following news of her passing, with her twin brother’s final message offering a deeply personal look at the bond they shared.
