Expansion: Tax ombudsman to open office

FAISALABAD: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) will open its first office in Faisalabad to facilitate quick resolution of taxpayers’ issues as 40 per cent of complaints are received from the textile hub of the country. FTO Dr Shoaib Suddle made this announcement during a visit to the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday. Promising to address genuine complaints of taxpayers, he said he had declared 2011 as the “year of implementation” with focus on settling older cases as quickly as possible. “It will be the first sub-office of FTO that will extend the reach to a wider community of taxpayers.”
