Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has revealed a surprising family connection with actor Saif Ali Khan, explaining that the two are related through the ties between the Kapoor, Nanda and Bachchan families.

Saif and Akshay Kumar recently appeared on a show hosted by Bachchan while promoting their upcoming psychological thriller, Haiwaan. During the conversation, Bachchan brought up the unexpected family connection, leaving Khan and the audience intrigued.

According to Gulf News, Bachchan said, “Many people don’t know this, but he is related to me,” while referring to Saif. Explaining the connection, Bachchan said, “Raj Kapoor’s daughter, Ritu’s son Nikhil is married to my daughter Shweta”.

Nikhil Nanda, the son of Ritu Kapoor and industrialist Rajan Nanda, is married to Bachchan’s daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda. Ritu Kapoor was the daughter of legendary actor Raj Kapoor, making the Bachchan-Nanda-Kapoor connection part of Saif’s extended family through his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Saif quickly responded with a humorous remark of his own, saying, “Thank God that’s not a question.”

Beyond their family connection, Bachchan and Saif have also shared the screen in the past. The two actors worked together in Eklavya: The Royal Guard (2007) and Aarakshan (2011).

Bachchan has also collaborated with Kareena Kapoor in several films, including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Dev (2004) and Satyagraha (2013).

Meanwhile, Saif and Kumar are continuing promotional activities for their upcoming psychological thriller Haiwaan, which is scheduled to release in cinemas on September 11.
