K-P targets tech hub under Digital Vision

KPITB Managing Director Dr Akif Khan briefed the minister on initiatives related to digital governance

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Science and Information Technology Shafi Jan has said that all available resources will be utilized to transform K-P into a leading hub of technology and the digital economy under the province's Digital Vision 2030.

The provincial minister expressed these views during a visit to the K-P Information Technology Board (KPITB), where he inspected the FinTech Unit and other sections and reviewed ongoing digital governance and information technology projects.

KPITB Managing Director Dr Akif Khan briefed the minister on initiatives related to digital governance, cashless government payments, digital skills training, employment opportunities for youth, public services and the promotion of the digital economy.

Shafi Jan congratulated KPITB on winning two international awards and several national-level recognitions, saying the promotion of information technology would play a vital role in the economic development of the province.

He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, K-P had been provided a comprehensive Digital Vision 2030.
