Warner Bros World teases three new areas for Abu Dhabi's upcoming Harry Potter attraction
Fan theories point to Hogwarts, Diagon Alley and the Forbidden Forest ahead of the park’s September 7 reveal

The magic surrounding Abu Dhabi’s upcoming Harry Potter attraction is growing, with Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi teasing what appears to be a major expansion featuring three new themed areas.
A new post and countdown shared on the park’s official platforms have sparked fresh speculation among fans, with a full reveal scheduled for September 7 at noon UAE time. Warner Bros World has yet to officially name the three areas or confirm which attractions they will contain, but the clues released so far have sent Potter fans into overdrive.
According to Gulf News, the expansion has been long anticipated. In 2022, Miral and Warner Bros Discovery announced plans to bring a large-scale Harry Potter-themed experience to Yas Island, promising visitors the chance to step into the world of witches and wizards. At the time, the project was described as a major addition to the indoor theme park.
Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi currently features six themed lands: Warner Bros Plaza, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch, Cartoon Junction, Gotham City and Metropolis.
Fans piece together the clues
Fans are already trying to work out what the three new areas could be. Among the leading theories are Hogwarts Castle, Diagon Alley and the Forbidden Forest — three of the most recognisable locations from the Harry Potter universe. Neither Warner Bros World nor Miral has officially confirmed these names.
Much of the speculation has been fuelled by footage and visual clues associated with the upcoming attraction.
Fans have pointed to scenes that appear to recreate one of the most memorable moments from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: the chaotic journey involving the flying Ford Anglia and the Hogwarts Express.
The sequence appears to show an aerial chase before the enchanted car crashes into the Whomping Willow. If the interpretation is correct, the scene could form part of a major ride or immersive attraction, although details have yet to be confirmed.
Other clues have fuelled theories about an adventure set deep inside the Forbidden Forest. Fans believe the experience could feature a rescue sequence involving Harry and Ron, along with encounters with giant spiders reminiscent of the Aragog scenes from the films.
If these interpretations prove accurate, the attraction could offer an experience not currently replicated in exactly the same way at existing Harry Potter theme park destinations.
For now, however, the scenes remain clues rather than confirmation. Warner Bros World has not announced the names of the rides, their storylines or the exact locations visitors will be able to explore.
A first for the region
The Yas Island development is expected to be a significant addition to the global theme park landscape. The attraction is set to become the first permanent Harry Potter experience outside a Universal-operated theme park and the first of its kind in the Middle East.
Like the rest of Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, the new Wizarding World attraction will be located entirely indoors and fully air-conditioned, offering visitors a climate-controlled experience in Abu Dhabi’s hot weather.
Construction is reportedly already underway, with some industry reports pointing to a possible 2029 opening. However, no official opening date has been announced.
For now, fans will have to wait until September 7 for Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi to reveal whether their theories about the three mysterious new areas are correct.
