New PIMS chief vows better care

ISLAMABAD:

The Ministry of National Health Services issued orders for fresh appointments to key administrative positions at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) on Sunday.

Dr Muhammad Salman, Chief Executive Officer of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Islamabad, has been appointed Executive Director of Pims on a three-year deputation basis in BS-21. The orders take immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.

Dr Salman has also been given additional charge of the Chief Executive Officer of NIH.

Dr Altaf Hussain, Professor of ENT at Pims, has been assigned the additional charge of Joint Executive Director (Non-Medical), BS-20, while Dr Nuzhat Yasmeen, Professor of Paediatric Medicine, has been given the additional charge of Joint Executive Director, Children's Hospital.

Dr Shamaila, Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, has been assigned the charge of Professor and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
