Street movement signals long march readiness, says Jan

PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Science, Technology and Information Technology Shafi Jan on Saturday paid tribute to the people of Battagram, Torghar and Shangla.

He said the "massive public participation" in the street movement from Battagram to Basham in Shangla led by K-P CM Sohail Afridi demonstrated that the people of province were fully prepared for the Sept 27 long march.

In a statement, the provincial minister noted that the ongoing street movements across different districts of the province would serve as a major milestone in the success of the next month's Islamabad long march.

He said those who had come to power through Form 47 would witness the true strength of the people on Sept 27. Jan said the federal government had defied the court's order to transfer Imran Khan to a hospital, calling the decision to put the PTI founder's health at risk a serious wrongdoing by both the federal and Punjab governments.

The "mandate-stealing government" had seriously violated fundamental human rights and the Constitution and law by creating obstacles to Imran Khan's medical treatment, he said.
