PPP will eventually move to opposition benches: Hasan Murtaza

.

LAHORE:

Pakistan Peoples Party Central Punjab General Secretary Syed Hassan Murtaza said on Friday that his party would eventually part ways with the PML-N-led government, claiming that the question was now only when the split would take place.

"We will eventually part ways with the PML-N government," said Hasan Murtaza, claiming that it was now only a matter of when.

Talking to The Express Tribune, he said the PPP had crossed the bridge now vis-a-vis alliance. "PPP will sit on the opposition benches and do its independent politics."

He clarified that sitting on the opposition benches did not in any way mean that the party would form an alliance with PTI.

He said that even when the PPP moved to the opposition benches, it would continue supporting the government where it felt it was in the larger national interest. "Our relocation to the opposition benches, since it does not take away the simple majority available to the PML-N-led government, means that the government would remain intact."
