Adria Arjona reveals intense 'Man of Tomorrow' training as her DC role remains under wraps
Adria Arjona reveals a demanding routine as she prepares for her mystery role in James Gunn’s DC sequel film

Adria Arjona is taking her upcoming DC Universe role seriously, revealing that her preparation for Man of Tomorrow has pushed her into a demanding physical routine. The actor has been training for the James Gunn directed sequel to Superman, although the exact character she will play has not been disclosed.
Arjona opened up about the preparation while speaking with Screen Rant, describing a schedule that includes several hours of training each day alongside a strict diet. The actor said the physical transformation has already produced results she never expected, noting that she now has muscles she had never had before.
"I have muscles that I’ve never had in my life. I’m training two to three hours a day on a crazy diet," Arjona said. She also revealed that coffee has been helping her maintain the energy required for the demanding routine. Despite the intensity of the preparation, she said she is excited about what is ahead.
The mystery surrounding Arjona’s character has given her comments an added layer of intrigue. While the actor has confirmed that she is joining Man of Tomorrow, neither DC Studios nor the filmmakers have revealed who she will portray. Arjona also kept details close to the chest when discussing her return to the creative team behind the project.
The upcoming film reunites Arjona with Gunn and Peter Safran, who previously worked with her on The Belko Experiment. Arjona has credited the pair with giving her an important early opportunity in her film career and said she is excited to work with them again. She also connected their support to later opportunities in her career, including her role in Andor.
"I’m excited to be reunited with the family that started everything for me, which is Peter Safran and James Gunn. They gave me my first movie," Arjona said. She added that she would not have taken part in several of the projects she has worked on without their early support.
Arjona has chosen to keep the details of her Man of Tomorrow role private, telling the publication that the training was one of the few details she was willing to discuss. That secrecy has left audiences with little information about how her character fits into the story.
The sequel follows the 2025 release of Superman, with David Corenswet returning as Clark Kent and Nicholas Hoult reprising his role as Lex Luthor. Rachel Brosnahan is also returning as Lois Lane, while the cast includes several other established DC characters and performers.
James Gunn recently confirmed that filming on Man of Tomorrow had wrapped, moving the project into its next stage ahead of its theatrical release. The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on July 9, 2027.
For now, Arjona’s physical transformation remains one of the few clues surrounding her involvement. Her comments confirm that the role has required serious preparation, while the decision to keep her character secret ensures that her eventual reveal could become one of the film’s biggest talking points.
