Pakistan name Under-19 squad for England tour

Farhan Yousaf to captain the brigade in Youth Test and four ODIs

Pakistan have named a 15-member Under-19 squad for their tour of England, with Farhan Yousaf appointed captain for a campaign featuring one Youth Test and four one-day internationals.

The tour begins on September 2 with a four-day Youth Test against England at Arundel Castle Cricket Ground, followed by ODIs at Arundel, Guildford and Wormsley.

Farhan, a right-handed batsman, led Pakistan to the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup title in December and will be joined by nine players who have previously represented the national Under-19 side.

The squad features four fast bowlers including Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan, Rizwanullah and Umar Zaib while Mohammad Huzaifa and Niqab Shafiq provide the spin options.

Aliyan Salman, Ahmad Hussain, Jahangir Bilal and Hayam Khan add all-round depth, with Hamza Zahoor and Abdul Qadir named as wicket-keepers. Usman Khan and Hasnain Abbas Dar complete the designated batting group alongside Farhan.

Pakistan held a pre-tour camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, concluding preparations with a two-day red-ball intra-squad match on Tuesday. The team is due to leave for England on August 30.

Shahid Anwar will coach the side, supported by fast bowling coach Rao Iftikhar Anjum, spin coach Zohaib Khan and fielding coach Humayun Farhat.

The four Youth ODIs will be played on September 9 at Arundel, September 12 at Guildford, and September 14 and 16 at Wormsley.
