QUETTA:

Five Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists were killed and several others injured in a targeted operation by security forces in Panjgur, while separate incidents across Balochistan left at least three people dead as armed men attacked police, torched public buildings and carried out abductions.

Security forces conducted the targeted operation in Killi Soran, Panjgur, where five terrorists of Fitna al-Hindustan were killed and several others injured. Sources said the terrorists were travelling on motorcycles to carry out a terrorist activity when they were targeted using modern technology.

A large quantity of modern weapons and ammunition, three vehicles, two motorcycles, an improvised explosive device (IED) and a flag of a banned organisation were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were involved in planning robberies, abductions, target killings and suicide attacks, the sources said.

Separately, unknown armed men blew up a police station in the Saranan area of Pishin with explosives and took two police vehicles, weapons and two police personnel with them while fleeing. The two police personnel were later released by the armed men.

In Chagai district, unknown armed men planted explosives and blew up a building at a football ground in Charsar, Dalbandin. In Union Council Ziarat Balanosh, armed men vandalised a Local Government rest house and later set it on fire. Armed men also blew up an empty dam in Killi Sailarah, Ziarat district.

In Mastung, armed men abducted Sardar Shah Zaman Khan Alizai, head of the Alizai tribe, along with his son at Sorgaz on the Quetta-Karachi National Highway. Police and security forces reached the site after receiving information and launched a search operation to recover the abductees.

In Dera Bugti, a motorcyclist, Rashid Bugti, was killed on the spot when an underground landmine exploded at Lanjoo Safari Branch No 8, police said. In Buleda tehsil of Kech district, unidentified armed motorcyclists opened fire on a truck and a vehicle, killing the truck driver and injuring the vehicle's driver.

A boy, Sultan, was killed in firing at Mizei Adda in Qila Abdullah. Police also recovered the body of a young man who had been abducted from the tourist destination of Damira on August 14. In Chagai's Jojo area, armed men opened fire on two trucks on the N-40 Highway and then set them on fire before fleeing.
