IHC halts PHA DG appointment

ISLAMABAD:

The IHC on Saturday suspended the recruitment process initiated by the Ministry of Science and Technology for the post of Director General of the Pakistan Halal Authority (PHA) and sought responses from the parties concerned.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro issued a written order on a miscellaneous application filed by Akhtar Ahmed Baghio, suspending further proceedings on the advertisement issued on August 9 for recruitment to the post until the next hearing.

According to the written order, the petitioner's counsel, Muhammad Usman Nawaz, informed the court that the petitioner had been appointed PHA DG on a regular basis on April 10, 2020.
