China urges deeper party-to-party exchanges with Pakistan

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong has called for deeper exchanges and mutual learning between China and Pakistan on party building and governance, saying the two countries should work together to improve people's well-being, promote prosperity and development, and accelerate the building of a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future.

Jiang made the remarks in an article outlining China's approach to party building and governance, describing China and Pakistan as "ironclad friends and all-weather strategic cooperative partners."

He said China was ready to deepen exchanges and mutual learning with Pakistan on party building and governance and work together to improve people's livelihoods and promote prosperity and development.

The ambassador said the Communist Party of China (CPC) had consistently placed people at the centre of its governance, citing China's poverty alleviation campaign as an example of its people-centred approach.

Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, he said, China had eliminated absolute poverty, built a moderately prosperous society and embarked on a new journey of national rejuvenation and modernisation.

Jiang said President Xi had consistently supported Pakistan's national development and efforts to improve people's livelihoods. Xi had stressed that China's friendly policy towards Pakistan was directed towards all Pakistani people and that the planning and implementation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) should take into account all regions of the country so that its benefits could reach the entire population.

According to Jiang, CPEC has so far brought more than $25.9 billion in direct investment, created over 260,000 jobs, added more than 8,000 megawatts of power-generation capacity and led to the construction of 510 kilometres of highways and 886 kilometres of core national power transmission networks.
