Shay Mitchell sells 85% of BÉIS to Samsonite in $210 million deal: How much is her stake worth now?
The 'Pretty Little Liars' actress launched BÉIS in 2018 and helped build it into a major luggage and lifestyle brand

Shay Mitchell’s lifestyle and travel brand BÉIS has been acquired by Samsonite Group in a deal valuing the company at $210 million.
The 39-year-old Pretty Little Liars actress launched BÉIS in 2018 and helped build it into a major luggage and lifestyle brand. Lifestyle bags now account for 50% of the company’s net sales.
Samsonite is paying $178.5 million for 85% of BÉIS. The transaction includes Beach House Group’s entire 70% ownership stake, while Mitchell is selling half of her previous 30% stake.
As a result, Mitchell will sell 15% of BÉIS for an estimated $31.5 million while retaining the remaining 15% of the company, which is valued at the same amount based on the acquisition price.
“This is a dream come true. I’m so proud of what our small but mighty team has built over the past eight years,” Mitchell said in a statement. “We’ve always dreamed big, and joining the Samsonite Group gives us the chance to dream even bigger.”
She added, “They’re truly the perfect partner – our strengths complement each other so well, together we can take BÉIS places we couldn’t have on our own.”
BÉIS will continue operating as a standalone brand, with Adeela Hussain Johnson remaining as CEO. Mitchell will also continue guiding the company’s creative and product direction as Founder and Head of Creative and Design.
“I’m so thankful that I get to do something I love every day. Eight years in, I’m as excited as I was on day one. It honestly feels like we’re just getting started, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what’s next,” Mitchell said.
