Harry Potter’s biggest UK shop is coming as HBO series builds Christmas excitement
The two floor attraction will feature themed interiors, interactive experiences and exclusive merchandise for fans

Harry Potter fans in London are set for a major new attraction, with Warner Bros preparing to open the UK’s largest official Harry Potter shop on Oxford Street later this year. The two floor flagship will occupy 21,000 square feet at The Ribbon, 134 to 140 Oxford Street, creating a substantial new destination for visitors and fans of the Wizarding World.
The shop is scheduled to open in November, according to the latest announcement, placing its arrival close to the launch of HBO’s new television adaptation of J K Rowling’s books. The series, officially titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, is scheduled to premiere on December 25, 2026. The timing gives Warner Bros a major retail attraction in London as interest in the new television version builds towards its debut.
The Oxford Street store will be the second official Harry Potter retail destination in the UK, following the existing shop at King’s Cross Station. The new flagship is designed to offer a substantially larger experience, with Warner Bros describing plans for an environment inspired by locations from the Wizarding World.
Visitors can expect interiors influenced by Diagon Alley, alongside recreations and displays connected with familiar elements from the Harry Potter stories. The plans include a dragon positioned above a representation of Gringotts bank and a full size Knight Bus. A version of the Leaky Cauldron pub is also planned, with food and Butterbeer available to visitors.
The attraction will also sell exclusive merchandise, giving the Oxford Street location products that fans may not find at other official shops. Warner Bros has previously confirmed that the store will include interactive activities and photo opportunities as part of its retail experience.
The location is significant for the franchise because London has long been closely associated with the Harry Potter brand. King’s Cross Station already draws visitors to the Platform 9¾ attraction, while the Warner Bros Studio Tour London in Leavesden provides fans with behind the scenes access to sets, costumes and props from the original film series.
The new shop will also arrive during a major period for the franchise. HBO’s upcoming television series is adapting Rowling’s books for a new generation, with Dominic McLaughlin playing Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. John Lithgow is portraying Albus Dumbledore, while Janet McTeer plays Minerva McGonagall.
The television series is being led by showrunner Francesca Gardiner, with Mark Mylod directing multiple episodes. Rowling is also an executive producer alongside Neil Blair, Ruth Kenley Letts and David Heyman. The first season will focus on the events of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
