IHC raises judicial transport allowances

The transport monetisation allowance for district judges and officers of the Islamabad Judicial Service and Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been increased, with the revised rates taking effect retrospectively from July 1, 2026.

The Registrar of the IHC, Muhammad Yar Walana, has issued a notification approving the enhanced transport monetisation allowance for judicial officers and officials in Basic Pay Scales (BPS) 17 to 22.

Under the revised structure, officers in BPS-22 will receive a monthly transport monetisation allowance of Rs250,000, while those in BPS-21 will receive Rs195,000.

The allowance has been fixed at Rs175,000 for BPS-20 officers, Rs150,000 for BPS-19 officers, Rs100,000 for BPS-18 officers and Rs60,000 for officers in BPS-17.

According to the notification, the additional expenditure arising from the revised allowances will be met from the budgets allocated to the Islamabad High Court and the District Judiciary for the 2026–27 financial year.

The notification confirms that the revised transport monetisation allowance applies to district judges and eligible officers serving in the Islamabad Judicial Service and the IHC.

The enhanced allowance forms part of the approved financial provisions for the current fiscal year.
