ISLAMABAD:

The foreign ministers of the R-4 Group on Wednesday reaffirmed that a just, comprehensive, and lasting settlement of the Palestinian issue remained indispensable to achieving enduring peace and stability in the Middle East.

The R-4 Group foreign ministers comprising the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkiye, met in Amman, Jordan.

"The ministers reiterated their unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian State on the basis of the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions," the Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press release.

They also reviewed the evolving regional situation and reaffirmed the importance of continued consultation and close coordination among the four countries in advancing regional stability.

The ministers emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remained essential to fostering stability and preventing further escalation in the region.
