Three-member team formed to probe Wafflix's owner murder

KARACHI:

AIG Karachi Police Azad Khan has constituted a three-member special investigation team (SIT) to probe the kidnapping and murder of Mir Raza Ali, a young resident of PECHS Society Block 2.

According to a notification issued on Monday, the team is headed by SSP Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Dr Samiullah Soomro. Other members include SSP District East Zubair Nazir Sheikh and SP Investigation East Zone-I Muhammad Usman Sadozai.

The SIT has been tasked with tracing and arresting those involved in the abduction and killing. It has also been authorised to seek immediate assistance from any officer within the Karachi Range. The notification further states that the team will submit daily progress reports to the AIG Karachi.

Following the notification, SSP Soomro, along with SSP Sheikh and other officials, visited the crime scene. The team conducted a detailed inspection of the site, reviewing all available evidence. Investigators also gathered information from employees of a nursery located near the crime scene.

Later, the team visited the victim's residence and met with Mir Raza Ali's family. Officials assured them of full cooperation and pledged to trace and arrest those involved at the earliest.
