Minister visits injured Hangu policemen

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan, accompanied by Member of the Provincial Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary for Forests Sher Ali Afridi, visited Lady Reading Hospital on Thursday to inquire after police personnel injured in Wednesday's terrorist attack on a check post in Hangu.

The minister met the injured policemen, wished them a speedy recovery and assured them of the provincial government's full support. He also met their family members and reaffirmed the government's commitment to extending every possible assistance during this difficult time.

Hospital authorities briefed the minister on the condition of the injured personnel and the treatment being provided. Shafi Jan directed the administration to ensure the highest standard of medical care without any negligence or delay.

Speaking to journalists, the information minister strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack, saying such acts could never weaken the resolve of the government, the K-P police or the people of the province. He vowed that all elements attempting to undermine peace and law and order would be dealt with an iron hand.

Shafi Jan said 10 police personnel were martyred and 32 injured in the Hangu attack. He noted that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and the chief minister's aide on home Tariq Saeed Marwat had also visited Hangu to meet the bereaved families and express solidarity with them.

Paying tribute to the sacrifices of the police force, the minister said K-P police officers and personnel continue to fight terrorism with exemplary courage and professionalism on the front lines.
