Air chief Sidhu reaffirms Pakistan's defence ties with Belarus

Belarusian delegation lauds Pakistan Air Force as both sides discuss expanding military collaboration

Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu on Thursday reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to strengthening bilateral defence ties with Belarus during a meeting with a high-level Belarusian defence delegation, the military's media wing said.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the delegation, led by Belarus First Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Muraveiko Pavel Nikolayevich, called on the air chief at Air Headquarters in Islamabad.

"During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security, defence cooperation and prospects for enhanced military collaboration were discussed," the ISPR said.

The air chief reaffirmed the Pakistan Air Force's commitment to further strengthening bilateral defence ties, underscoring the importance of expanding cooperation through joint training, military exercises, technological collaboration, and defence-industrial partnerships.

The visiting dignitary appreciated the Pakistan Air Force's operational preparedness, technological advancements and self-reliance initiatives, the ISPR said, adding that he also expressed Belarus' commitment to further expanding bilateral defence cooperation.

According to the statement, the meeting reflected the shared commitment of Pakistan and Belarus to strengthening defence ties and advancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
