Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first trailer for The Thomas Crown Affair, offering audiences a fresh look at Michael B. Jordan’s reimagining of the classic heist thriller.

The film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on March 5, 2027, with Jordan serving as both director and lead star.

In the upcoming adaptation, Jordan plays billionaire art thief Thomas Crown, a sophisticated globetrotting mastermind whose high-stakes robberies conceal a deeper mission. Rather than stealing for personal gain, Crown secretly works to return priceless cultural artefacts to their rightful owners, giving the iconic character a modern and more socially driven purpose.

The trailer introduces Adria Arjona as a determined former FBI agent pursuing Crown across the world, while Kenneth Branagh appears as a powerful antagonist who threatens to derail Crown’s plans. The film blends action, suspense, romance and luxury settings, staying true to the stylish tone that made previous adaptations popular.

Speaking previously about the project, Jordan explained that he wanted to create "a reimagination" instead of a traditional reboot, saying the new story raises the emotional stakes while preserving the glamour, fashion and romance associated with the franchise.

The screenplay was written by Drew Pearce from an earlier draft by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson. The film is based on the 1968 classic starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, which was later remade in 1999 with Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.

Jordan is producing the film through Outlier Society alongside Elizabeth Raposo, Charles Roven, Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff. According to Variety, the trailer first premiered during CinemaCon before its official online release.

With an acclaimed cast and a fresh creative vision, The Thomas Crown Affair aims to introduce the beloved heist story to a new generation of moviegoers.
