Suri Cruise has reportedly taken another significant step in distancing herself from her estranged father, Tom Cruise, by legally changing her name.

According to an exclusive report from Page Six, the 20-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes has officially dropped "Cruise" from her surname and is now legally known as Suri Noelle.

Public records reviewed by the outlet show that Suri registered to vote in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, in October 2024 during her freshman year at Carnegie Mellon University using the name Suri Noelle. Pennsylvania election officials require residents to register under their legal name, indicating the name change has been formally completed.

Court records also reportedly show that Suri did not file a name change request in Allegheny County, suggesting the legal process may have been completed in New York before she moved to Pennsylvania. In New York, name change requests are automatically sealed or may be sealed upon request, making the exact timeline unclear.

While the legal change has only now come to light, Suri has publicly used the surname "Noelle" for some time. During her June 2024 graduation from New York City's LaGuardia High School, the graduation program listed her as Suri Noelle instead of Suri Cruise.

At the time, sources told Page Six that the move was both a tribute to her mother, Katie Holmes—whose middle name is Noelle, and part of Suri's desire to establish her own identity as she prepared to start college.

Suri, who is studying musical theater at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Drama, has continued pursuing acting. Earlier this year, she appeared in a staged reading of Cosmic Microwave Background in Pittsburgh and is set to perform in Midsummer!, a contemporary adaptation of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, before the production heads to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes welcomed Suri in April 2006 before marrying later that year. Following their highly publicized divorce in 2012, Suri remained with Holmes in New York. Tom, a longtime member of the Church of Scientology, has reportedly been estranged from his youngest daughter for much of her life.

Representatives for both Cruise and Holmes did not immediately respond to Page Six's requests for comment regarding the reported legal name change.
