Children's Hospital set for expansion

FAISALABAD:

The district administration has announced the expansion of the city's Children's Hospital from 314 to 450 beds and vowed to expedite the project under the Punjab government's healthcare reforms.

During a visit to the hospital, Faisalabad Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh said the expansion was part of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's initiatives to improve healthcare facilities across the province.

He said the hospital would be equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities and assured that the issue of providing the required number of doctors would be taken up with the relevant authorities.

Dr Sheikh appreciated the hospital's arrangements for the treatment of children and the availability of medicines, adding that its management model would be replicated in other hospitals across the Faisalabad Division.

The commissioner visited various wards, interacted with children receiving treatment and sought feedback from their parents, who expressed satisfaction with the healthcare services.

He also inspected the dialysis unit, reviewed medicine stocks and examined cleanliness arrangements, reiterating that making hospitals complaint-free in terms of treatment and patient care remained the administration's top priority.
