CM concerned over Johar's crumbling roads
Taking serious notice of worsening road conditions and persistent sewage problems in Gulistan-e-Johar, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Monday directed Mayor Murtaza Wahab to ensure immediate remedial measures.
The chief minister ordered the swift rehabilitation of major arteries as well as internal streets in the locality, stressing that the ongoing development and repair work must be personally monitored by the mayor.
He also sought an urgent report on road restoration, drainage issues, and the cleaning of sewerage lines, underscoring the need for prompt action to address civic complaints.
CM Shah maintained that residents and commuters should not suffer due to development activities, adding that the government is duty-bound to provide improved mobility and a cleaner environment.
Calling for emergency steps, the chief minister instructed all relevant agencies to enhance drainage systems and upgrade infrastructure in the area. He assured residents that their grievances would be resolved on a priority basis, warning that delays and substandard work in development projects would not be tolerated.
