Pakistani crypto expert Waqar Zaka wins global TradFi competition
Zaka outperforms more than 2,000-plus participants from around the world in solo trading tourney

Technology entrepreneur and crypto expert Waqar Zaka has won a global solo trading tournament WEEX TradFi Masters, outperforming more than 3,000 participants from around the world in a multi-asset competition that tested traders across traditional and digital markets.
The contest required participants to trade independently using their own capital, with no teams or referral incentives, and evaluated performance across stocks, gold, silver, commodities and cryptocurrencies on a single platform. Zaka secured the top position, earning a brand-new 2026 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon in Dubai as the winner’s prize.
According to competition details, all leading participants traded with an initial capital of $100,000. Zaka delivered a 74% return over 20 days, generating $74,000 in profit and taking his total account value to $174,000. A trader from South Korea finished second with a 57% return, while a Chinese participant secured third place with 35%.
Organisers congratulated Zaka on the official handle of WEEX on microblogging site X, formerly Twitter.

Zaka’s victory marks the first time a Pakistani trader has topped an international multi-asset online trading competition of this scale. He had previously finished eighth in a similar tournament last year, before improving his performance significantly in the latest edition after initially climbing to fourth place.
The WEEX TradeFi Masters is a premier multi-asset trading championship where participants can trade Stocks, gold, silver, commodities, and cryptocurrencies — all through a single platform.
Organisers described the competition as a test of adaptability, strategy and disciplined risk management, reflecting a growing trend where competitive trading is increasingly viewed as a form of digital sport akin to e-sports.

Zaka, who has also been recognised by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government for his work in cryptocurrency and blockchain initiatives, has long advocated for broader adoption of digital assets in Pakistan. His latest win has renewed attention to his earlier proposals urging the government to establish a national Bitcoin reserve.
He has consistently argued that Pakistan could leverage long-term appreciation in Bitcoin to address national debt and reduce reliance on the International Monetary Fund. The idea has recently gained traction globally, with similar proposals being discussed internationally.
According to observers, Zaka has been publicly promoting cryptocurrency since at least 2016, when Bitcoin was trading at around $268. His early advocacy, including television appearances and online content, is now being revisited by supporters in light of evolving global discourse around digital assets.
His victory underscores both the growing prominence of Pakistani traders in global financial markets and the increasing convergence of traditional finance and cryptocurrency trading.
