Probe traces JAAC funding to India: Tarar

LAHORE:

 Information Minister Attaullah Tarar on Sunday said an investigation had uncovered an India-linked digital disinformation network that financed and amplified social media campaigns associated with the banned Joint Action Committee (JAAC) in AJK, alleging that the operation was designed to spread anti-state narratives.

Addressing a press conference, the minister said security agencies had earlier arrested a digital marketing service provider whose activities were allegedly connected to India.

He said investigators had established that payments for promoting social media content in Pakistan were routed through digital payment gateways originating from India.
