Three killed as truck runs amok on Superhighway
Uncle-nephew duo among victims as brake failure at U-turn leads to fatal crash

Three people, including a man and his nephew, were killed after a speeding truck ran over a motorcycle near Jamali Bridge on the Superhighway, police said on Sunday.
The tragic crash occurred within the jurisdiction of the SITE Superhighway Industrial Area police station as the victims were travelling from Jamali Bridge towards Ayub Goth. According to police, a fast-moving truck went out of control while taking a U-turn due to brake failure and crushed a motorcycle.
All three riders sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Civil Hospital by rescue teams. However, they succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Habib, son of Iqbal; 50-year-old Waqar, son of Saleem; and 28-year-old Adeel, son of Ghulam Mustafa. Police said Habib and Waqar were uncle and nephew and residents of Ahsanabad. Both were associated with the furniture business. Habib was married, while Waqar is survived by two daughters and a son.
Police officials said the victims were on their way to work when the accident took place.
Local police station SHO Chaudhry Muhammad Nawaz said the truck lost control due to brake failure while negotiating a U-turn, resulting in the fatal collision.
