Prime Video orders Greg Berlanti’s mind-bending horror series 'Stillwater'

Prime Video orders Stillwater, a horror thriller series from Greg Berlanti and Carly Wray based on Skybound’s comic

Prime Video has ordered an eight-episode horror drama series, Stillwater, from creators Greg Berlanti and Carly Wray.

The series, based on Chip Zdarsky and Ramón K Pérez's Skybound graphic novel, comes from Amazon MGM Studios.

Deadline reported that the upcoming Stillwater TV series is a mind-bending horror thriller following Daniel West, an ex-convict who receives a mysterious letter offering answers about his past and a large inheritance. His search takes him to the strange town of Stillwater, where he discovers a disturbing reality: nobody ages, no one dies, and escaping the community appears impossible.

Berlanti and Wray, who are serving as executive producers and co-writers, said the series will explore themes of immortality, identity, community and the lengths people will go to protect their way of life. They also praised Zdarsky and Pérez’s original graphic novel for creating a world that blends supernatural horror with human emotion.

The Stillwater series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions and Skybound Entertainment, the company behind The Walking Dead franchise and Prime Video’s animated series Invincible. Executive producers include Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Robbie Rogers, Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Rick Jacobs, Glenn Geller and Chip Zdarsky.

Amazon previously acquired Stillwater after a competitive bidding process in 2025. Following a year of development, including script and production planning, the project has now received an official series greenlight.

Peter Friedlander of Amazon MGM Studios described Stillwater as an original mix of horror, mystery and psychological suspense, adding to Prime Video’s expanding slate of genre-focused original shows.
