PM fast-tracks railway upgrading plan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday sought proposals for the upgrading of the Rohri-Multan section of the Main Line-1 (ML-1) project after being informed that the detailed engineering design for the Karachi-Rohri section had been completed.
Chairing a meeting to review progress on the Pakistan Railways Transformation Plan, the prime minister directed the authorities to complete all railway development projects within the stipulated timelines and according to the highest quality standards.
The meeting was also informed that 60% of work on the 112-kilometre railway line linking the Thar coalfields with Chhor railway station had been completed.
