PML-N readies Nawaz Sharif's Muzaffarabad rally

MUZAFFARABAD/ MIRPUR:

The PML-N has accelerated preparations for former prime minister and party president Nawaz Sharif's public rally in Muzaffarabad on July 21, as senior party leaders arrived in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to finalise election arrangements.

Adviser to the PM Rana Sanaullah and Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam reached Muzaffarabad on Sunday to review preparations for the rally and the party's election campaign.

Nawaz's Political Secretary Rashid Nasrullah met Sanaullah and Muqam to discuss the upcoming AJK elections, the party's campaign and arrangements for the July 21 public meeting.

The meeting focused on strategy for Nawaz's Muzaffarabad rally, election campaign planning, preparations for the public gathering and the party's future course of action.

PML-N Central Coordination Board Chairman Sardar Tariq also attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, the party has postponed Nawaz Sharif's scheduled visit to Mirpur due to adverse weather conditions forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department. According to party sources, Nawaz was originally scheduled to visit Mirpur on July 20, but the visit was deferred as a precaution.

Under the revised election campaign schedule, Nawaz will now visit Mirpur on July 24, where he is expected to address a major public rally at the Quaid-e-Azam International Cricket Stadium in support of PML-N candidate Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed.

The rally is regarded as one of the PML-N's key campaign events ahead of the AJK polls, with party leaders expecting a large turnout. Saeed, a former AJK minister for sports, youth and culture, is among the party's prominent candidates in the constituency.
