Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor flee dinosaurs in immersive new 'The End of Oak Street' 4DX footage

Warner Bros. has unveiled 14 minutes of new footage from David Robert Mitchell's upcoming sci-fi thriller The End of Oak Street, giving audiences an immersive first look at Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor battling dinosaurs during a special 4DX preview event in Los Angeles.

The exclusive presentation showcased several extended sequences from the highly anticipated survival adventure, with attendees experiencing moving seats, bursts of air, water effects and environmental sensations designed to mirror the on-screen action as the characters attempted to escape prehistoric predators.

Set in the 1980s, The End of Oak Street follows an ordinary suburban family whose neighbourhood is suddenly transported into a mysterious world inhabited by dinosaurs and other deadly creatures. Hathaway stars as Denise, while McGregor plays her husband Greg as the couple fight to protect their children and survive the unimaginable.

The footage highlighted the film's blend of family drama, suspense and large-scale creature action. One sequence sees Hathaway and McGregor desperately trying to avoid being devoured by a towering dinosaur, while another demonstrates the practical and visual effects that director David Robert Mitchell has used to bring the prehistoric world to life.

Mitchell, best known for It Follows and Under the Silver Lake, appeared at the preview event alongside members of the creative team to discuss the ambitious production. The filmmaker explained that the project was designed to balance blockbuster spectacle with an emotionally grounded family story.

The cast also includes Maisy Stella and Christian Convery as the couple's children, with Michael Giacchino composing the score. Produced by J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot, the film marks Mitchell's biggest studio production to date.

Originally announced under the title Flowervale Street, the film was later renamed The End of Oak Street ahead of its marketing campaign. The new footage is expected to build anticipation as Warner Bros. prepares for its theatrical release on August 14, 2026.

The 4DX showcase underscored the studio's confidence in the project, with the immersive format allowing viewers to feel every chase, impact and dinosaur encounter. If the preview is any indication, The End of Oak Street aims to deliver both edge-of-your-seat thrills and a heartfelt family adventure when it arrives in cinemas next month.
