Two arrested over Rs100m diesel heist

RAWALPINDI:

The FIA Islamabad Zone, in a joint operation with PSO, has dismantled a gang allegedly involved in stealing diesel from the main pipeline supplying the Sihala depot, arresting two suspects and recovering an illegal pipeline, drums, storage tanks and two pickup trucks.

Officials estimate the network has caused losses exceeding Rs100 million.

According to officials, acting on intelligence, a joint FIA–PSO team raided a site near the Bhaga Jump Stop in Sihala, where they apprehended two suspects, identified as Muhammad Siddique and Mujtaba, while they were allegedly engaged in illegally siphoning diesel from the PSO–ATRL pipeline.
